- Making proper eye contact when the doctor or dentist is speaking to you
- Practice “patient behavior” in a waiting room: sit quietly, don’t touch others’ belongings, wait for your name to be called
- Use polite language with medical staff: “Please,” “Thank you,” and “Excuse me”
- In the dentist’s chair, practice staying calm and following instructions even when it feels uncomfortable
- Show respect for the doctor’s time — listen when they speak and answer their questions
- Maintain personal space in the waiting area — leave an empty seat between you and others when possible
