    • Understand the connection between work and pay — you earn money by completing tasks
    • Budget your time: each job takes a few minutes, so plan how many jobs you can do

    • Report any allergies to receptionist and doctor/dentist
    • Sit nicely in the dentist’s chair and hold on while dentist moves the chair up, down or backwards

    • Before shopping, count your money and decide how much you can spend on snacks
    • Check the price tags on items before putting them in your basket
    • Add up the prices of the items you’ve selected: “Do I have enough for all of these?”
    • When paying at the register, hand the correct amount or a larger bill and wait for change
    • Count your change before leaving the register to make sure it’s correct
    • Remember: you can only buy 3 items, so choose wisely

    • Address unexpected situations, such as items being out of stock, by finding suitable alternatives
    • Make adjustments to the shopping list or choices based on availability

      Saying hello and goodbye
    • Asking questions such as the cost of an item or where item is located
    • Asking for assistance or directions from store staff when needed
    • Selecting a snack from the shelves:
      1. Verbally telling clerk what items you would like

    • Making eye contact while communicating

    • Estimate the time needed for the shopping trip and plan other activities accordingly. Be sure to account for the time you may wait on line
